William Irvin Funk

He was born on November 25, 1934 to William Ross Funk and Lena Patterson Funk in Waynesburg, where he resided for his lifetime. He was a 1952 graduate of Waynesburg High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. On May 29, 1956, he married Alice Jean Schneider, who preceded him in death on July 2, 2013. He was a supervisor at Brockway Glass Company in Washington, PA until his retirement, and also operated Funk's Vending Service with his father. William was a Ford man and also an avid Steelers fan from the 70's, and he loved his sweets.

He is survived by his children, William Joseph Funk and Penny Candace Funk Henderson; granddaughter, Shelby Lyn Henderson; great-granddaughter, Aubree Beth Pringle; brother Robert Funk; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Richard Lee Funk, Bonnie Funk Eitner, and two infant brothers who passed shortly after birth.

He will be sadly missed.

The family would like to thank everyone who participated in William's care.
