On December 29, 2025 we lost Wilma Lee Ayersman Blair - wife, mother, sister, aunt, but the title she loved most was Nana. After fighting a courageous battle against Alzheimer's Wilma is no longer suffering. She is now with the Lord, her Savior.
She was born on May 17, 1941 to Wendell A. "Archie" Ayersman and Jean Bettony Ayersman in Everettsville, WV. She lived the majority of her life in Waynesburg, where she met the young John L. Blair, II - the love of her life and married him on August 31, 1962. She worked for The Democrat Messenger Newspaper, South Penn Telephone Company, was a cook for the Central Greene School District, sold clothes at Fashion Bug, but returned to cooking for Waynesburg College in the cafe and The Bee Hive. She loved getting to know the professors, staff, and students. She loved getting to know people and never met a stranger - she couldn't go to the store without seeing someone she knew.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Peggy Stewart (Lyle), John Blair, III (Marianne), and Mike Blair (Laurie); sibling, Joe Ayersman; the great loves of her life, her grandchildren, J.M., Matt, Sam, Chelsee, Shelbee, Alison, and Jeffrey; and many nieces and nephews.
She delighted in her many furry granddogs. In her spare time, she loved to bake, cook, garden, swim, waterski, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Peggy Black, Kay Greer, Sharon Loughman, and Mary McCann.
At the request of the family, there will be no viewing or funeral. Any monetary donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
