Billy Earl McLeod

Canton-Billy Earl McLeod, 83, died suddenly on Thursday, February 09, 2017. Bill was born in Perry, Florida, on August 29, 1933, to the late William and Annie Odom McLeod. Bill taught US History and retired after many years of faithful service. He enjoyed shooting handguns, working with computers, and reading, especially anything about history. Most of all Bill loved his wife, Janice. Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janice McLeod; a daughter, Elizabeth Wright and her husband Scott; a stepson, Rob Ely; a granddaughter, Amy Wright and her husband, Josh; a grandson, Charles Wright; and a sister, Margie Brown. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 12, at Cruso United Methodist Church with the Reverend Aryn Ruebel officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Haywood Christian Ministries at 150 Branner Ave. Waynesville, NC 28786.
