BJ Mehaffey

“Loving Husband & Dad” BJ Mehaffey, 88, of Waynesville, NC passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at The Homestead. He was born in Haywood County October 9, 1927. Many people from around our county would remember BJ by the service he provided as a cook in the Restaurant business. He is preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Blanche Mehaffey; two brothers, Wade and Gene Mehaffey. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Ellen Mehaffey; Loving sons and daughters, Lula Faye, BJ Jr., Ricky Wayne, Fred, Teresa, Rick, Eddie, Jimmy, Ronnie, Johnny, and Christopher; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Garrett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Green Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons, Eddie, Jimmy, Ronnie, Jason, Brandon, and Bradley.
