

Joe Community of Madison County-Blanche Lowe Wimbish, 86, died at her residence surrounded by her loving family on August 8, 2016. Blanche was born in Madison County on May 16, 1930, to the late Reuben and Jessie Packett Haynes Lowe. Blanche enjoyed exploring the outdoors where she collected her “found art”. She loved her animals including pigmy goats, llamas, potbelly pigs, chickens, dogs, cats, and her burro. Blanche will be remembered as a caring person especially when it came to her family. She was very active in the Salvation Army Church and was the original organizer of the Lowe Family Reunion. In addition to her parents, Blanche was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith and Estalee Lowe; and five brothers, Paul, J.B., Ralph, Cecil, and Dallas Lowe. Blanche is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lewis Wimbish; a daughter, Lucy Lowe Hill (Keith); two brothers, Eugene Lowe (Leona Ford Lowe) and Marvin Lowe (Ruth Burns Lowe); and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 13, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Ronnie Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Hurricane View Cemetery at Maple Springs. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday, August 12, at Garrett Funerals and Cremations. Friends and family are invited to gather at the home place following the service on Saturday.
