

Brenda was born in Waynesville, NC on Dec. 7, 1947, to the late Don and Helen Parsons Smathers.
She loved the outdoors and had lived in some beautiful places; Missoula, MT, Coolville, OH and Parkersburg, WV where she retired from United Bank as an IT System Analyst. She was also a published author with 5 books published under the pen name, Amanda Balfour. She loved writing and reading other author's books.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 40 years, Clinton Bell and beloved dog, Jesse, sister Kay Dixon (Ronnie), stepsons Dean and Kelly Bell of Canada, nieces Stefanie Cash (Sean) and Tari Hornick (Jason), as well as numerous cousins and a very special aunt, Louise Hill.
Brenda was a member of Maple Grove Methodist Church (Turpin Chapel) where her grandfather and
grandmother are buried in the Turpin cemetery. Her faith was the utmost importance to her.
A Celebration Of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 15, at Maple Grove United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ron Hartman officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:00 am prior to the service at the church.
