Whittier-C.B. Hart, 77 passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Blue Ridge Healthcare on the Mountain after a long, hard battle with dementia. C.B. was born in Ashe County, NC on April 11, 1941, to the late Marvin and Nora Sullivan Hart.
C.B. will be remembered as the owner/operator of the Dillsboro Smokehouse for 25 years where he served the best barbeque and hushpuppies around.
C.B. is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Janet Simpson Hart; sisters-in-law, Pam Clark and Susy Hart; nephew, Barrett Clark; nieces, Shelia and Julie.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 2, in the chapel of Garrett-Hillcrest Mausoleum with Pastor Rosemary Peek officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Sylva.
