Carl "Quickie" Truman Reece

Carl "Quickie" Truman Reece, age 73, of Waynesville, NC passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Carl was born on October 23, 1950 and was the youngest child of the late Elbert and Bonnie Barnes Reece.

Carl served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of Balsam Baptist Missionary Baptist Church. He was a longtime member of VFW Post 5202, American Legion Post 47, and Vietnam Veterans of America.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Lester, James, Jack, Homer, Charlie, Bill, Jim, and Frank Reece; and two sisters, Edna Mae Cagle and Doris Potts.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Linda Allen Reece; brother, Gene Reece of Balsam; and a loving extended family.

Military Graveside Services for Carl will be held at 3 PM Friday, December 22, 2023 at Balsam Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Greg Cullen officiating. Following the graveside service, the family will gather to receive friends from 4 PM to 6 PM at Garrett Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 581 S Allen Rd, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
