Carolyn Brown Tuggle

On December 19th, 2023, Carolyn Brown Tuggle was called Home by Our Heavenly Father. She was born on September 2, 1939, to late Ira James and Lattie Beasley Brown. She was a 1958 graduate of Buies Creek NC High School, and attended Campbell College before transferring to East Carolina University, from which she graduated with a teaching degree. Carolyn later received her Masters in Education from Eastern Kentucky University. While living in Lexington, KY, she taught at Harrison and Julius Marks Elementary Schools, and later at Dunedin Middle School in Dunedin, FL. Carolyn was also a homebuilder and a businesswoman, but her true calling was as a teacher, molding and shaping young minds.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sisters, Blondell Brown Gilchrist and Stacy Brown Dean.

She leaves behind her sons, Roger Neil Howell and James Allen Howell, her granddaughter, Samantha Lynn Howell, and her nieces Phyllis Lambert and Teresa Thomas.

A private viewing will be held on December 23, in Waynesville NC.
