Beloved Mama and Nanny

Clara Jo Warren, age 66 left this world from her home on Balsam and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on March 27, 2026. Clara Jo was born in Buncombe County on July 7, 1959, to the late Joseph and Frellie Hambrick Warren.

Clara Jo was a stormchaser and roofer spanning "38 states and 3 countries." In 1995 she retired and became a homemaker. Clara Jo loved spending time and traveling with her grandkids. She also enjoyed shopping. Clara Jo loved all of her dogs, especially her Princess Alicia Jo. She was a member of Camp Branch Missionary Baptist Church and was a prayer warrior who longed for Heaven.

In addition to her parents, Clara Jo was preceded in death by her sister, Arlesia Warren Simonds.

Clara Jo is survived by her daughter, Brandy Brooks and husband, Jonathan Davis-Martin; grandchildren, Jonathan Joseph, Elisabeth Danielle and Olivia Jo Martin; niece, Jessica Simonds Justice, whom she raised and loved like a daughter; best friend and "sister", Teresa Rogers; and her church family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 3, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Beauford Rice officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
