Waynesville-Glennie Christine Messer Sutton, 83 passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021, at her residence. Glennie was born in Haywood County on May 26, 1938, to the late Glenn and Bonnie Almond Messer. Glennie was always taking care of her family and others. She was a friend to everybody she met.
In addition to her parents, Glennie was preceded in death by her brothers, Hugh, Elmer, Lewis, Charlie, Bill, and Tot; and sisters, Carrie and Edith.
Glennie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joe Sutton; son, Mark Sutton (Lucinda); daughters, Bonnie Sutton and Karen Queen (Happy); grandsons, Jacob (Keri), Tyler (Kristen); great-granddaughter, Maggie, arriving in October; brother, Robert (Lynn); and sister-in-law, Nina.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 2, at Messer Cemetery with the Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. The family will have a private visitation.
Heaven will never welcome a sweeter Mama.
