JC "Jay" Clontz

JC "Jay" Clontz, age 80, of Waynesville, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Jay was born in Haywood County on June 26, 1943, to the late Jodie and Lillie Bradley Clontz. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing his guitar, working on cars, and making people laugh. Most of all, Jay loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Burnette Clontz; son, Jeff Clontz; grandson, Marty White, Jr.; and two sisters and a brother.

Jay is survived by his daughters, Tanya Scott, Sharon Conard, Candy Clontz (Shannon Rathbone); 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Vera; brothers, David, Daniel and Johnny.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 9, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with Pastor Paul Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
