John Henry Bumgarner, 73, of Canton, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at his residence. He was born on April 26, 1943 to the late Mack Bumgarner and Elizabeth Lanning. He loved spending time in the outdoors fishing, hunting, and ginseng digging. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Linda Payne Bumgarner, brothers, Glenn Bumgarner and Harold Lanning, and a sister, Ella Mae Stevenson. He is survived by two brothers, Albert Lanning and Kenneth Lanning, both of Clyde, and five sisters, Ardith Wyatt, Alma Mitchell, Lillie Lanning, and Sarah Lundsford all of Waynesville, and Romaine Wilson of Clyde, a great nephew, Michael Ewart who treated him like a son. 000A Message of comfort may be left to the family and guest registry may be signed at www.garrettfuneralsandcremations.com
