Kenneth Elbert Johnson Kenneth Elbert Johnson, 87, of Hayesville, NC passed away October 1, 2015 at the Clay County Care Center. He was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey on September 30, 1928 to the late Orville and Emma Johnson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a step son, Gib Williams; brothers, Orville (Junior) & Ted Johnson; and sister, Beatrice. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Hazel Johnson; son, Ted Williams (Susan); daughter-in-law, Sue Williams; daughters, Fran Crosby (Ron), Terriann Brame, and Lois Amato; brothers, Carl, Raymond and Donald Johnson; twelve grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Ken proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of Truett Memorial Baptist Church, in Hayesville, NC. During his life he enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved boating, fishing, and grew one of the best vegetable gardens. He loved his family and was loved by all. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Truett Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Johnny Foster officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, during the viewing. A graveside service will be held on October 17, 2015 in Tampa, FL at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted at Truett Memorial Baptist Church in Hayesville, NC, on Friday 10/9 between 10am – 4:30pm, and on Sat. 10/10 between 10am – 12pm.
