Kristopher Johnson Holliday, age 35, left this earthly plane
unexpectedly on Saturday May 18, 2024, in Spring Creek, North Carolina.
He was born on November 18, 1988, in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late
William Todd Holliday of Knoxville, Tennessee (1960-2008) and
Elizabeth Ann Ayers of Hendersonville, Tennessee. Kris leaves behind
his mother Beth, his grandmother Judith Ann Ayers; his uncle Scot Alan
Ayers and aunt Susan Campbell Ayers; his aunt Jennifer Ayers Finucan
and uncle Pat Finucan; his cousins Alex Ayers, Nick Ayers, Sean
Finucan, Colin Finucan; his nieces Myriam McBride and Maya McBride;
his longtime beloved canine travel companion Xavier, and numerous
chosen family members that will long remember their brother and
friend.
Kris had a huge heart and never met a stranger. He loved to travel,
play guitar & sing, paddle on the water, climb trees, throw disc golf,
skate board, and most especially spend time with his loved ones. He
loved playing with children, participating in community activities &
events, fishing, and spending time in nature. He chose his home in
Appalachia along the border of Western NC and in East TN due to his
immense love of the mountains, waters, forests, and people of the
area. Growing up as an only child, Kristopher sought out experiences
with people that treated each other like family and gained many
brothers and sisters along the way across the continental United
States. He loved working as both an arborist and a white water raft
guide, and also had a passion for gardening. He lived life to the
fullest, sought to be carefree, loved fiercely, and touched those of
us who loved him in a way that we will carry him with us always.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life in Cosby, TN on
May 31; Knoxville, TN on June 1; as well as in Hot Springs, NC and
Hendersonville, TN both later in June. If you would like to attend any
of the celebrations and need more information you can call/text Spring
(865-216-4282).
Special thanks to Dignity Memorial and Anthony Messer at Garrett
Funeral Home in Waynesville, NC. He has gone the extra mile to make
sure that Kristopher's final arrangements have been seamless and has
taken excellent care of his mother during this difficult time.
