Kurt Moody Peschke

Waynesville-Kurt M. Peschke, 48, died on February 19, 2016. Kurt was born in Haywood County on January 26, 1968, to Gunter Peschke, the late Peggy Moody Peschke and stepmother, Dianna West Peschke. Kurt graduated from Tuscola High School in 1986 and joined the Marine Corp with his lifelong friend, Tim Jones. Kurt toured the world while in the Marine Corp and served in the first Gulf War, Desert Storm. After serving 10 years in the service, Kurt worked for the US Postal Service in Clyde until his death. In addition to his parents, Kurt is survived by a brother Heinz Peschke of Tennessee; a step-sister, Margo Tamboer, of Clarksville, Tennessee; aunts, Marlene Moody Blalock of Maggie Valley, and Eva Peschke Bell, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; special cousins, Don Blalock and Tami Blalock Williams along with many more family members; and childhood friend, Tim Jones. He also had an aunt and uncle in Germany. A memorial service celebrating Kurt’s life will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, February 26, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Amy Forga officiating.
