Patsy Helen Swayngim Swayngim McCarthy

Patsy Swayngim McCarthy, 77 passed away at Silver Bluff Village on Monday, January 30, 2017. Patsy was born on August 1, 1939, to the late Grover C. and Della Kay Swayngim. Patsy was a member of Barberville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her daughter, April Mendola; and two brothers and two sisters. Patsy is survived by her two sons, Tim Ruff (Betty Jo) of Bethel, North Carolina and John Ruff (Karen) of York, South Carolina; brothers, Kenneth Swayngim (Doris) of Asheville, North Carolina and Charles Sisk of Michigan; a sister, Margaret Medford of Waynesville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Cody Ruff, Skye Ruff, Brandon Bilby, Courtney Hood, Michael Mendola; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Aiden Bilby; and numerous nieces and nephews. At Patsy’s request, services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Barberville Baptist Church Building Fund at 1441 Russ Ave. Waynesville, NC 28786.
