Pauline Elizabeth "Lib" Caldwell Sorrells

Pauline Elizabeth "Lib" Caldwell Sorrells, age 89, of Waynesville, NC passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Pauline was born in Haywood County on February 20, 1935, to the late Glenn and Pauline Caldwell. She enjoyed eating at Ammons, Long John Silvers and going to yard sales. Most of all, Pauline loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She worked at Ghost Town and J. Arthur's Restaurant.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Sorrells; sons, Joe and Fornice Sorrells; daughter, Wilma Barnes; brothers, Roger and Bill Caldwell; and brother-in-law, Hobert Brown.

Pauline is survived by her son Jimmy Sorrells (Joanne); daughter, Vivian Nelson (Robert); six grandchildren, Wendy, Margaret, Jimmy, Courtney, Trista and Jennifer; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Zenia Brown and Jean Lanning (Albert); brother, Ernest Caldwell (Janice); and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Pauline will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, at Sulphur Springs Freewill Baptist Church with the Reverend Matthew Pressley and the Reverend Harry Worley officiating.
