

Pauline Palmer Wilson went home to be an Angel with the Lord just like she was an Angel to all who knew her on this Earth. She was born on March 22, 1925 and passed away on July 17, 2019 at the age of 94. Pauline was the oldest child of the late Elmer and Elizabeth Palmer. Her husband, Kay Wilson, predeceased her in 1960.
Pauline generously gave her time and resources to her Daughters, her church, her Grandchildren, family and friends. She loved to cook and was known to make delicious cream pies. She was happy when she was working outside in her garden or yard and enjoying the creations of her Lord and Savior. Pauline was a member of Grandview Baptist Church for many years. She taught Sunday School and Bible School, sang in the choir and was willing to serve on any Committee that needed her. She retired from Belk Department Stores.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Martha Gaw and her husband, Hank, whom Pauline loved like a son, of Columbia, SC, daughter, Linda Wilson of Waynesville, NC , Grandchildren, Stephen Bryson(Vanessa) and Stephanie Bryson of Waynesville, NC and Natalie Pontiere(Dominick) of Murrells Inlet, SC and Great Grandchildren, Devyn, Karaline, Samyra, Noah, Grant, Carter, Mariella and Sean. She is survived by brothers, Mark Palmer, Waynesville NC, George Palmer (Helen), Knoxville, TN and Tommy Palmer(Eve) Williamsburg, VA and sisters, Betty Gilliland, Hazel Henson, Geneva Moody, Jean Dotson(Charles), all of Waynesville, NC and Pat Gilliland of Hampton, VA and several nieces and nephews.
Pauline was cherished by her family and her guidance and care for each will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Garrett Funeral Home, 460 North Main Street, Waynesville, NC. Visitation will be at 2:00 until 2:45 with the Celebration at 3:00. Burial will be at Rocky Branch Cemetary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Grandview Baptist Church, 1562 Allens Creek Road, Waynesville, NC or a favorite charity.
