Ray Stuart Shetley

Ray Stuart Shetley, passed away on January 15, 2026, at the age of 84. Born in Haywood County, NC, on June 8, 1941, Ray was the son of the late Ray Flint Shetley and Lorena Kate Massie Shetley.

Ray was a dedicated equipment operator for the NC State Highway Communications.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Caldwell Shetley. His family includes daughters, Michelle (Matthew) Evans and Misty (Joe Alan) James, and son, Michael (Pam) Shetley. He was a proud grandfather to Autumn (Blake) Evans and daughter, Pralynn, Austin Shetley (Kaley), and Jessica Evans. Step grandchildren, Austin (Rachel) James and their children, Karsyn and Aiden and Andrea (Chase) Wilson and daughter, Paysle.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 2-4 pm at Garrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Garrett Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
