Robert "Bob" Francis Mehaffey

Waynesville-Robert “Bob” Francis Mehaffey, 65, died on December 24, 2014. Bob was born in Haywood County on June 19, 1949, to the late Bill and Martha Ann Grahl Mehaffey. Bob enjoyed fishing, traveling to Savanah, reading and most of all NASCAR. Bob scored the last touchdown for Waynesville Township High and the first touchdown for Tuscola High School. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his grandmother, Geneva Ferguson Grahl. Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra Mehaffey; a son, Chris Mehaffey (Jennifer); a daughter, Lori Mann (Michael); two granddaughters, Emily and Rachel; sisters, Karen Tatham (Bergin) and Vickie Caylor (Wayne); four nephews, two great-nephews and one great-niece; and step-mother, Gail Mehaffey. A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 30, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Erma Bond officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
