Wilson “Sonny” “Stockdale” Price 1943 – 2015 Waynesville, NC – Wilson “Sonny” “Stockdale” Price, 72, passed away October 18, 2015 at the Charles George VA Medical Center. He was born in Haywood County on March 25, 1943. Wilson served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. He was retired from Dayco Industries following 32 years of service and later worked at the farmers Coop for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming but most of all loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Reeves and Zora Rathbone and Hayden and Avis Price; and parents, Jack and Roxie Rathbone Price. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Betty Messer Price; two sons, Jeffery Price and his wife Erinn of Hendersonville, NC and David Price and his wife Janet of Waynesville; brother, Boyd Price of Clyde, NC; sister, Barbara Jean Massie and husband Paul of Cumming, GA; three grandchildren, Tayler, Jacob, and Morgan Price; and one great grandson, Noah. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Garrett Funeral Home with Reverends Jerry Nelson and Billy Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday evening at Garrett Funeral Home. Burial will be held at the Davis Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Freeman, Jacob Price, Jason Messer, Grady Hall, Ron Kilby and Vincent Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Jarvis Messer, Paul Ledford, Ray Messer, and J.C. Clark.
