So sorry to hear about your Mom. I remember you and your family from when I was a little girl.  I always admired the friendship between your Mom and Mine (Dorothy Collins), that they played cards since during the war.  I lost my Mom in September she was 100.  God Bless you and your family.

Please accept my sympathy at your mother's passing.  It is always hard when you lose a loved one, but you can take comfort in knowing you did everything you could tohelp your mom and to make your mom comfortable. Hopefully in time you will find joy in all the memories of your mom.

Aunt Celeste was my Dad's first cousin.  I am Maureen Ford, Francis Maher;s daughter.  I remember, several years ago, being in a bar on the corner of Oakland and Tamm eating fried chicken and happened to see an attractive woman that reminded me of Aunt Celeste.  I went over and it was you Cathy and your husband and when I told you who I was there sitting next to you was your mother, Celeste.  With her sharp memory she immediately recognized me and we had a wonderful visit.  Your mother was always the sparkle at family parties.  My Dad and your mother looked more more like brother and sister than his own sister and their personalities were more similar as well.  I know you have beautiful memories of your precious parents. Boy, but that old crew enjoyed life!  So much fun to be around.

Celeste was my Dad's (Francis Maher) first cousin.
I remember her from many family gatherings of the '40s and '50s.  She was always so full of life, just like her Mother, Aunt Katie.
I know that St. Peter has had to order more barrels of a certain beverage that the Parentins, Mahers, Butlers, and Phelans are having right now in their big Irish party in the sky!

Cathy, my deepest sympathy to you and your family.  She was a wonderful mother and I know you'll miss her, but now she's at comfort and peace.  Enjoy  and cherish your memories of her.

"Miss Dynamo", that is how I would describe my friend of over thirty years. If there was an occasion that became boring, it wasn't long before she brought it to life again.  She definitely had a personal conviction that life was meant to be lived, and her's was a life well lived. Despite a physical condition she has lived with for as long as I have known her (that would have brought down many of us) she rose above it.  Never felt sorry for herself.....on the contrary, she was determined that nothing was going to rain on her parade. A great hostess, artist, singer, classy dresser, classy lady, confidant, who loved her family. Now with Mel, Aunt Sis and Uncle Louie. I shall miss you my friend.

I knew Celeste mainly through my friendship with her daughter, Cathy, and through one phone call many years ago.  Even at this distance, her dignity, spirit, and zest for life were apparent.  My husband and I want to express our deep sympathy to Cathy and her entire family and we hope your happy memories will help assuage your grief.  Benita Boxerman
