

Faye Martin Mills, 90, died in Des Moines, Iowa on December 23, 2014. She was born to the late Benjamin and Leona Mae Martin on March 11, 1924 in Owensville, Missouri and was the second youngest of nine children. The family soon moved to Washington, Missouri where she lived until moving to St. Louis in 1942 after graduating from Washington High School. There she worked for several years including as an executive secretary and bookkeeper for the GJ Nooney Company. She loved to travel and as a young woman visited Cuba and Europe. In 1957 she and the late Robert Mills were married and they settled in Webster Groves where she lived for 53 years. She was known as a gourmet chef and frequently entertained friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband and eight siblings. She is survived by her children Amy (James Gilliam), of Des Moines, Iowa; David (Barbara Acker-Mills) of Auburn, Alabama; and Paul (Carol), of Carol Stream, Illinois; grandchildren Aaron Mills, Stefanie Kemen (Todd), Mark Mills, Ryan Mills and Julie Mills; great-grandchildren Timothy Mills, Clive Kemen and Wade Kemen, as well as many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory can be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association, or the charity of your choice.
