

Martin, George Randall “Randy”, of Pompano Beach, FL, died peacefully on August 24, 2015. He was born November 8, 1929 in St. Louis to Helen (Feldmann) and George R. Martin. For 42 years he was married to the late Jean (Gilmour) Martin. He was blessed with three daughters; Susan Beauchamp, the late Sally Cannon and Laurie Burns; three grandchildren, Stewart Cannon, Katie Burns and Abby Beauchamp. Randy leaves behind many dear friends.
Randy graduated from Webster Groves High School. He attended Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After college, he served in the Coast Guard during the Korean War. Randy enjoyed a rewarding career which began at Granite City Steel. He later joined Multiplex Display Fixture Company where he ultimately served as President and CEO. After the sale of Multiplex, Randy followed his passion for golf with the executive search firm of John Sibbald & Associates as president of the Golf Course Superintendent division.
Golf was Randy’s passion. He enjoyed playing and served as the Green Committee Chairperson at both Algonquin Golf Club and Crystal Downs County Club in Michigan. Randy served as Co-Chairman of the 1991 U.S. Senior Amateur tournament played at Crystal Downs County Club. An active member of the USGA, Randy served as a Green Section Committeeman and volunteered at multiple U.S. Open tournaments.
Susan and Laurie wish to thank the nurses and caregivers at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach Florida, who were like family to Randy, for their loving care, kindness and understanding.
SERVICE: A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015, 10:00 am at Oak Hill Cemetery, 10305 Big Bend Blvd., Kirkwood, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Randy’s name may be made to Evans Scholars Foundation, One Briar Road
