Ivy Watkins McAlister

Ivy W. McAlister,106, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2015. Loving wife of the late Herbert McAlister; dearest mother of Dr. William (Victoria) McAlister; loving grandmother of Tory (Robert) Goldson and Diane (Karl) Petersen; dear great grandmother of Ivy and Ava Goldson and Jack, Will, and Kate Petersen.

Ivy was born in Gunnislake, England. At the age of one year she immigrated with her parents to the United States and eventually settled in Leadville, Colorado where they lived until Ivy was 16. They then moved to Detroit, Michigan. She worked for many years for the Highland Park School system before moving to Saint Louis in 1970 where she was employed by the Washington University School of Medicine until she retired. She remained active and involved with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many friends. She will be missed by all.

Visitation will be from 6 -8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Gerber Chapel, 23 W. Lockwood, Webster Groves.
