In years past, we'd be planning Normanstock right about now.  I'm getting the itch to do something like that and realizing even more the hole in my life that my double-ex-brother-in-law has left.  I don't know how many times I've picked up the phone before realizing that you wouldn't be there.  6 months on and it's still hitting me how important you were to me and how much I ;loved you. Rest easy, brother, you are well remembered.

Thank you for sharing the " Moving Memories" on this site.  Though unable to attend the service, I feel I was able to celebrate the life and legacy of Jerry while watching the video. Jerry was a character in the nicest context of the word. He always kept things interesting at KMOX-TV. His passing diminishes all who worked with him.

My thoughts and prayers are for you Gail.  Celebrate all the love and friendship that you have gained.  Take comfort that life never ends, we take what we learn to the next level.   I am sure Jerry will surely be missed in this life.  With Love

Oh 'Rock-man'.  How special you were and what a difference you made when I first started at KMOX so many years ago.  I remember your caring and professionalism and your wonderful sense of humor.  But, I especially remember how you much you cared about my children and took the time to share the business with them when they came to visit the station.  Jami and J. send their love to your family, as do I.

To Lucille, Liz, and all of Jerry's family and friends: know that I, too, will be missing Jerry.  Please accept my sympathy.  I wish that I could attend the service, but I am unable to make it.  My prayers and thoughts are for and of you.  Peace and love.

I will miss Jerry. When I arrived at KMOV in 1993 he was one of the first to make me feel welcome. We shared the love of the business, following in our fathers footsteps and kidding each other. He introduced me to his passion, Variety and the Variety kids. Little did I know how big a part that organization would play in our lives years later when our son Peyton was born. In the past few years we've grown closer together and shared good times. Now suddenly he's taken away. I will truly miss the man.

Jerry was a truly fine man, and a dear and valued friend - just like his dad, Phill, before him. I miss them both and treasure how they touched my life.

All our sympathy & love to Jerry's family.  I remember Jerry back to teen years. Glad he and Liz had that wonderful trip recent year to Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, a beautiful event I heard they loved.

I will always remember Jerry lighting up a room when he came in class during high school.  He was on the Lindbergh class of 1975 reunion committee, and it was great to have his positive input. He will be very missed, but always remembered.   My condolences to Liz and his family.

I always enjoyed my conversations with Jerry when we worked together at KMOV.  Over the past few years I ran into Jerry several times when I was out on a story.  We always had a good laugh together.  I enjoyed his company.  He was a good man.

We share so many wonderful memories of our days at KMOV.... Jerry loved what he did, the people he worked with, and those who viewed his product.  He always took his job seriously, but never himself.  He will be missed and always remembered.

In loving memory of Jerry Alan Rock, a man whom ten short years ago I have the pleasure of calling "brother".  On Thursday, September 13, 2012, at approximately 9:15 a.m., we were preparing to back out of our parking spot, when a single feather from a Cardinal wafted onto the passenger windshield wiper and stopped in that spot.  Cardinals are widely believed to be a symbol of change, and I believe that was Jerry's was of letting us know his change was taking place.  No words can describe this soul whose heart was bigger than most I've encountered in life - save one - his loving wife.  May the blessings and comfort of our Creator fill the hearts of family during this time of adjustment.  May the uplifting memories of his life fill your days with gladness and joy in the many days to come.

I am so sorry to hear about Jerry and pray for strength and peace for your family at this time of sadness. I truly enjoyed working with Jerry during 28 years at KMOX/KMOV as the first female engineer, since the mid 70's. His bright spirit and floor directing talent hold fond memories for me, along with his genuine friendship and support. I shall always remember the fun times we shared working together.

I worked with Jerry on many shows and enjoyed them all. Even when things went badly, Jerry would still grin and crack a joke. My kind of friend.

Thank you, Jerry, for the great memories of your smile and sense of humor. As a young reporter starting out at KMOV you were among the "rocks" that made life easier in the fast lane. Jerry Rock: The perfect name for a Rock Star like Jerry. The last time I saw him in the 80s I was driving a 64 impala convertible down town stl. with a Webster U friend of mine filming from the back seat. Jerry by chance appears out of no where driving right behind us.
There he was waving with that fantastic smile. One of those unforgettable chance gifts in life. Thanks you for you're wonderful enthusiasm and energy Jerry. Rock on my friend.

When I first started at KMOV in 1994 -Jerry was one of those who extended warmth, courtesy and helped make me feel at home.   An exceptionally good guy and very talented.   He knew so much about the t.v. business in the early days,  with profound honesty and humor! -Kara Kaswell

So sad to hear this news.  Jerry was always and cheerful and helpful presence at Channel 4. My condolences to his family and friends.

Jerry introduced himself in 1976 when I first arrived in St. Louis. We worked together for about 10 years, still in touch after all this time. A joyful spirit, always moving forward in all his interests. Always positive, fun to be with a dear friend.

My prayers are with the family at this sad time.  Jerry was to young to leave this earth but God only takes the good ones.  I worked with Jerry at Kmov-TV. He was fun person to be around and a great dancer.  He will be missed

The last time I saw Jerry we shared laughs about the way the tv business use to be.  He was an excellent floor director, and to this day, I still tell young students and reporters how having someone like Jerry on the floor during a newscast made things much easier.
