My cousin actually put us together for a blind date in the early 70s. She wanted to see the film "Paper Moon," and we had a great time. She was very fun to be with and I was shocked to hear of her passing. That Summer night at the movies is a terrific memory for me.

Aunt Karen, thank you for the wonderful childhood memories you gave me. I'll always remember your creativity and spontaneity and the fun times we had together.

Though we didn't know her well, we are saddened to hear of Karen's passing. Now that she has gone, our thoughts are with her family. We hope they can find peace and take comfort in remembering the good times shared with their sister.  We're thinking of you, Dave and Jan Dunn

Dear "Kare-Kare" (as you always referred to yourself),  I cannot believe you are not here. We shared so many good times starting back in 1979 when we began our long friendship as roommates in the apartment on Leland in the U. City Loop. The list of memories I have is endless; cooking together, shopping, traveling, playing Mad Libs 'til the wee hours, etc.  I can remember so well when you managed to get me a first class seat on Delta for our trip to NYC together.  I will always have you in my heart, Kare-Kare.  I love you always, "Rozzie"

Dear Karen,

You were an example to all of us in the manner you found the strength to fight such a valiant fight.  May your troubles be over and may you find peace.  I remember the good times and staying at your house and the trips to Labadie and Washington and all the wonderful family history you generously shared.
