Maxine was love incarnate.  I will miss her wisdom and her deep gentleness. Boy, she sure always had the right words. She was our mother's bestest friend in the whole world; hearing her raspy voice always, always made Mom so happy - right up until her last hours. And our Dad always Maxine a saint. 
I will always treasure the last time I saw your Dad; perked up and told my Mom and I the whole story of how he met our Dad and he shared lots of early memories. It was very special.
We will always honor their memory.

What a shock to see on the Post Dispatch website about the passing of your mother.  Our hearts go out to you.  We will keep you in our prayers asking that God give you the strength to endure the loss of your parents.

Grandma Amsden passed away when I was only six months old, so I didn't get to know her.  I've always been told how wonderful and angelic she was.  I always felt that Aunt Maxine fit all of the same descriptions as Grandma Amsden.  When I was a teenager I told Aunt Maxine that knowing her, I felt as though I was able to know the kind of wonderful person Grandma was.  Her eyes got a little teary and she told me, "That may be the greatest compliment I could ever get."  I pray that I have the ability to love and be loved like Aunt Maxine.

I never know quite what to say in times like these, but I do know ... that Maxine was an incredible wife, mother & friend. So many people have been touched during her life here & we are all blessed. She will be missed, but not forgotten.
