Barbara Elaine Boring

Barbara was a veteran of the United States Navy and a parishioner of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. She loved walking on the beach collecting seashells. For Barbara her two grandchildren were so important to her. Her love for family was always first and foremost.

She is survived by her mother; Willia Mae Bourque Oliver, Welsh, a son; Christopher Boring, Austin, TX, a daughter; Trisha Beth Stroder & husband Shawn, Welsh, 2 brothers; Ted Mays & wife Debra and Paul Oliver & wife Kerstin, Welsh, a sister; Kathy McGee & husband Joey, Welsh. Two grandchildren; Madison Boring & Hazlie Stroder, a special niece; Katera Mays Trahan & husband Jeremy, a special nephew, Kelly Mays & wife Kimberly, and two great-great nephews; Kree Duplecian & Krayson Meyer. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; Julius Eddie Mays and her stepfather; Curtis “Pete” Oliver.

Visitation will commence at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. The rosary service will be on Wednesday at 6:00 pm. The visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 8:00 am until Christian Service time at 10:00 am. The Committal will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
