Bernardine Fontenot Martin

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Claude Martin, Andree Hainkel and husband John, and John Martin and partner Robert Mericle; grandchildren, Alexandra Hainkel, Roth Hainkel, and Madilyn Martin; great grandchildren, Olivia Hainkel and Amelia Hainkel; siblings, Catherine Carr and husband Richard and Ann Marie Fontenot; sister-in-law, Joann Fontenot; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert P. Fontenot and Estelle Fontenot; husband James Paul Martin; son, Paul Martin; grandson, Victor Martin; and numerous siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be prayed in the church at 9:30 a.m. The family would like to invite everyone to the Daigle center immediately following the Mass for food and refreshments.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the caretakers: Gaynell Bourque, Pam Clements, Michelle Bertrand and Sue Moore for their compassionate care and support.
