Dorothy Wilma Fontenot

Wilma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a faithful member of her community. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church and dedicated much of her life to service through her involvement with the Catholic Daughters, where she served as Grand Regent, Eucharistic minister and choir member, as well as her work with the Jeff Davis Home & Family, and the Jeff Davis Fair Board.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Lloyd Fontenot; her parents, Vance Alpha Cormier and Alma Smith Sensat; her sister, Peggy Sarver; and her brothers, Matthew Cormier, Huiet Cormier, and Bobby Cormier.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Bradley William Fontenot and wife Louise Becnel, Mark Allen Fontenot and wife Sandra Lejeune, James Keith Fontenot and wife Paige Benoit, and Nathan Paul Fontenot and wife Veronica Trahan; her daughters, Charlotte Fontenot Champagne and Marilyn Fontenot Bachelot and companion Kyle Benoit; her brothers, Herbert Cormier and Walter Sensat; her sisters, Shirley Sensat and Judy Myers; and her 15 cherished Grandchildren, Logan, Alaina, Kade, Nicholas, Miranda, Ethan, Haleigh, Adam, Chantelle, Jordan, Everett, Jake, Chelsea, Sam, and Chase. As well as 14 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Age of Welsh, as well as Dr. Mir Akban Khan and Dr Susan Ieyoub for their compassionate care.
