James Bennette Derouen

Bennette was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a mechanic and managed Diesel Engine Center of Broussard for many years. Bennette also continued the family tradition of farming soybeans and rice. He was consistently a fair and considerate man with a quick wit and great love for family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jane Moss Derouen, Welsh; daughter, Nina Delome (Gary), Welsh, a son, Johnny Derouen, Welsh. His siblings are Sister Luisa Derouen, Springfield, Kentucky, Sharon D. Courrege, Lake Charles, John Cordell Derouen (Debbie), Lake Charles, and Dwayne Patrick Derouen, Austin, TX, and the mother of his children, Earlaine Mallett, of Roanoke. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wilson Derouen and Mable David Derouen; Infant sister, Jeanette Derouen.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Father Alan Trouille will be the Celebrant.
