He was born in Fenton, LA and was a resident of Welsh. Samuel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Welsh. He was a retired rice farmer.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Marilyn Fisher of Welsh; two sisters, Brenda Fisher Campbell of Nashville, TN and Minna Fisher Lucas of Gretna, LA; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10am Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh. The Reverend Darrell Hieronymus will officiate. Pallbearers are Ernest Lucas, Michael Compton, Preston Compton, Hugh Fruge and Garrett Compton. Arrangements were entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh.
