Sylvia Faye Cormier, 69, of Lacassine, LA. passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Jennings American Legion Hospital. She was born to her late parents, Cleveland and Lena Mae Trahan on September 25, 1952 in Kinder, LA. She enjoyed crocheting and loved to make blankets for babies. Sylvia enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with her friends.
She is survived by her son, Shane Cormier of Lacassine, LA; daughter, Casey Vanhuss of Sulphur, LA; two brothers, Steve Trahan of Ardoin Cove, LA, Vernon Trahan of Lacassine, LA; along with two sisters, Janet Pultz of Iowa, LA, and Theresa Trahan of Vinton, LA.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Lee Cormier; son, Joshua Cormier; daughters, Shawna Cormier, Carrie Cormier; and her brother, Terry Trahan.
A Celebration of Sylvia's life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Dwayne Daigle officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Pine Island Cemetery in Jennings, LA.
