Angelita Moreno Ledesma, 93, from Elsa passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Weslaco, Texas, on August 13, 2025. A devoted mother, loving grandmother and dear friend, Angelita was a kind and gentle soul whose quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Angelita was born on February 29, 1932, in Lyford, Texas, to Hilaria and Tomas Moreno. Born into humble beginnings, Angelita spent much of her early life as a migrant worker, making memories with her siblings as they traveled across the country. She worked tirelessly in the fields to help support her family. She endured life’s challenges with remarkable bravery and met each day with courage, determination, and an unshakable will to create a better future.
In 1950, Angelita met her husband, Epifanio and settled into life as a full-time homemaker, where she brought the same strength and perseverance to raising her family. Her home was a place of love, warmth, compassion and hope. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and dedicated her life to her family with selfless love and tireless strength. Angelita also poured her heart into caring for her grandchildren and creating beautiful memories and touching the lives of multiple generations. She was always there for her family, supporting, encouraging, and proudly cheering. She faithfully attended countless school assemblies, football games, graduations, and family gatherings.
Angelita found strength and hope in her faith. Her faith as a Jehovah’s Witness was at the heart of who she was, guiding her to live with strong morals and become the loving, strong woman we all adored. In her later years, she found joy and companionship at her adult day care center, where she loved engaging in activities, playing loteria and sharing moments of laughter with friends. The center brought her happiness and comfort and became a cherished part of her life.
