Benigno Gonzales

Benigno, a cherished family member, always brought joy and a huge smile to everyone that he spoke with. He loved sharing vivid stories from his past. He loved spending time with his siblings, especially at the casino. He had a special love for planting and nurturing all kinds of plants and flowers.

He lived in Elsa, where he graduated from Edcouch-Elsa High School in 1976. Benigno and Imelda Maganas had four wonderful children that they adored. Benigno is survived by his children: Annamarie Vital, Benigno Gonzalez Jr., Julie Castillo, and Michael Gonzalez. He was a proud grandfather to Irene Perez, Ayisha Contreras, Desiree Castillo, Daniel Castillo, Angelica Gonzalez, Abagail Gonzalez, Benny Gonzalez, Amily Gonzalez, Jace Gonzales, Athena Gonzalez, Jose Castillo, Julius Castillo, Nathan Castillo, Jacob Castillo, Jaydee Castillo, Carlos Gonzalez, A’aliyah Gonzalez, Mikayla Gonzalez. His great-grandchildren include Cataleya Perez, Mateo Contreras, Damian Castillo Covarrubias, Alexia Castillo Covarrubias, Nova Castillo, Luna Castillo, Alani Taylor, and Ariya Taylor and Julie Marie Castillo.

Benigno is preceded in death by parents; Jorge Gonzalez and Julia Cruz-Gonzalez; his sister’s Maria Luisa Gonzalez and Olga Campos; his brother Oscar Gonzalez

Benigno is also survived by his siblings: Felicitas Rodriguez, Jorge Gonzalez, Olivia Garcia, Rita Barajas, Victor Gonzalez and Elizabeth Vasquez.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
