Esperanza H. Rodriguez

With deep love and gratitude for a life well lived, we can announce the passing of Esperanza H. Rodriguez, age 85, who entered into eternal rest on May 09, 2026 surrounded by her beloved family and the comfort of her faith.

Born on June 19, 1940 in Durango, Durango Mexico, she was the cherished daughter of Rev. Jesus Hernandez Leal and Dionisia Ramirez Garza de Hernandez. She grew up with strong values rooted in faith, family, kindness, and perseverance—principles she carried faithfully throughout her life.

Esperanza was a devoted Christian and longtime member of Primera Iglesia Bautista Donna and also a member of First Baptist Church (Buenas Nuevas), McAllen.

She found great joy in worship, prayer, Bible study, and serving others. Her steadfast faith guided her through every season of life and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was known for her gentle spirit, wise counsel, and unwavering love for her family.

Esperanza was a devoted wife to Jorge Alberto Rodriguez for 33 years until his passing (1995). Together they endeavored to raise up their children in the Lord, that with God’s power, will continue for generations.

She was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose greatest happiness came from serving those she loved.

Attending church gatherings, reading devotionals, singing hymns and spending time with family brought her great joy.

Her speech was always filled with the faithfulness and goodness of God and her presence brought comfort and peace to many.

She is survived by her children Jorge Alberto Rodriguez(Jr), Leticia Ozuna (Alberto), Blanca Estela Rodriguez, Sylvia Garcia (Rafael), Oscar Rodriguez, Lydia Gonzalez (Craig), her grandchildren; Isaac (Gonzalez), Corban-Samuel, Sofia-Cassia, Peace-Sarai, Andres-Josiah and Yadashemel-Santiago (Garcia), Ethan Aaron and Caleb Andrew (Gonzalez), her great-grandchild Ramona Nora (Gonzalez), her brother Ricardo Hernandez and her sister Raquel Estrada; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jorge Alberto Rodriguez (Sr); her parents, Rev. Jesus Hernandez Leal and Dionisia Ramirez Garza de Hernandez; and daughter, Rosalinda Rodriguez.

Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we take great comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her legacy of faith, strength, compassion, and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.

Please join us for Esperanza’s Celebration of Life on Friday, May 15 at 7:30PM at Funeraria del Angel Highland Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Weslaco.

Chapel service will be held on Saturday, May 16 at 12 noon followed by interment at 2PM.

Con profundo amor y gratitud por una vida bien vivida, podemos anunciar el fallecimiento de Esperanza H. Rodríguez, de 85 años, que entró en reposo eterno el 9 de mayo de 2026 rodeada de su querida familia y el consuelo de su fe.

Nacida el 19 de junio de 1940 en Durango, Durango, México, era la querida hija del reverendo Jesús Hernández Leal y Dionisia Ramírez Garza de Hernández. Creció con fuertes valores arraigados en la fe, la familia, la bondad y la perseverancia, principios que llevó fielmente a lo largo de su vida.

Esperanza fue una devota cristiana y miembro desde hace mucho tiempo de la Primera Iglesia Bautista Donna y también miembro de la Primera Iglesia Bautista (Buenas Nuevas), McAllen.

Encontró una gran alegría en la adoración, la oración, el estudio bíblico y el servicio a los demás. Su fe firme la guió a través de cada estación de la vida y fue una inspiración para todos los que la conocieron. Era conocida por su espíritu gentil, su sabio consejo y su amor inquebrantable por su familia.

Esperanza fue una esposa devota de Jorge Alberto Rodríguez durante 33 años hasta su fallecimiento (1995). Juntos se esforzaron por criar a sus hijos en el Señor, que con el poder de Dios, continuará por generaciones.

Era una madre cariñosa, abuela, bisabuela, hermana, tía y amiga cuya mayor felicidad vino de servir a aquellos que amaba.

Asistir a las reuniones de la iglesia, leer devocionales, cantar himnos y pasar tiempo con la familia le trajo una gran alegría.

Su discurso siempre estuvo lleno de la fidelidad y la bondad de Dios y su presencia trajo consuelo y paz a muchos.

Le sobreviven los hijos Jorge Alberto Rodriguez(Jr), Leticia-Ozuna (Alberto), Blanca Estela Rodriguez, Sylvia Garcia (Rafael), Oscar Rodriguez, Lydia Gonzalez (Craig), Sid nietos; Isaac (Gonzalez), Corban-Samuel, Sofia-Cassia, Peace-Sarai, Andres-Josiah y Yadashemel-Santiago (Garcia), Ethan Aaron and Caleb Andrew (Gonzalez), su bisnieta Ramona Nora (Gonzalez); su hermano Ricardo Hernández y su hermana Raquel Estrada; también numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas, familia extensa y queridas amistades.

Fue precedida en la muerte por su esposo, Jorge Alberto Rodríguez (Sr); sus padres, el reverendo Jesús Hernández Leal y Dionisia Ramírez Garza de Hernández; y su hija, Rosalinda Rodríguez.

Aunque nuestros corazones están entristecidos por su fallecimiento, nos consuela saber que ahora está en paz en presencia de su Señor y Salvador. Su legado de fe, fuerza, compasión y devoción permanecerá para siempre en los corazones de aquellos que la amaron.

Por favor, únase a nosotros para la Celebración de la Vida de Esperanza el viernes 15 de mayo a las 7:30 p. m. en la Funeraria del Ángel Highland Funeral Home y Memorial Park en Weslaco. El servicio de la capilla se llevará a cabo el sábado 16 de mayo a las 12 del mediodía, seguido del entierro a las 2 p. m.
