She was born in Ejido el Capote in Tamaulipas to Paula Rivera (+). She moved to Rio Rico where she met Guadalupe (+) and married him. They eventually purchased property in Weslaco, where they made their forever home and raised six children.
While her children’s hearts are shattered because of this separation, they are equally overjoyed for her. Ms. Garcia battled several health conditions the past six years and continuously became weaker. She was a warrior of a woman however, never complaining, and living her best life through each health ailment. She so longed to be home, and she is now there. Her children have no doubt that she is basking in her Savior’s glory. She is reunited with her baby Saul, her husband Guadalupe, who went to be with the Lord six years ago, and four great-grandchildren.
She was a devoted mother whose pride and joy were the six children she raised with a firm foundation in God. Once the grandchildren were born, love just didn’t fit in her beautiful heart. They were her greatest love.
Ms. Garcia is survived by sons Pedro (Irma), Felipe (Ida Linda), Norberto (Mary Ellen), Luis (Ana), Jose Guadalupe (Sarai), daughter Rosa, and most precious gifts-fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Ramon Gámez (Progreso) and sister Juana Contreras (El Capote).
All ceremonies and visitations will be held at Iglesia Bautista Las Palmas, which is located at 518 W Mile 10 N, Weslaco, Texas. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Services will be Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and Friday 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow the church service on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery - Garden of Beatitudes.
She was dearly and fully loved by her children and their families. They will miss her immensely but know full-well their reunion is pending.
