Irma M. Torres

Irma M. Torres, age 70, passed into eternal rest Wednesday July 20, 2022 after a courageous battle with kidney and heart disease. She was born April 25th, 1952, in Weslaco, TX, the daughter of Guillermo and Manuela Montez.

Irma was a devout Catholic who cheerfully sang and played many years in the church choir. She was an amazing wife and mother who dedicated her life to family. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. Irma will always be fondly remembered for her kind, loving, and joyful spirit.

She is survived by her husband Rene Torres of 50 years, four daughters Susana (Eduardo) Silva of Alamo, Anna (Neal) Gonzalez of Weslaco, Irma (Mario) Cavazos of San Juan, Renee Torres of Alamo and 8 grandchildren Megan, Brandon, Isaac, Isabella, Alex, Austin, Emma and Skylar; brothers Gabriel (Rosa), Zequiel (Janie), Chuy (Teodora), Moises (Rosa) and sisters Norma (Louie), Nora (Carlos) and her many nephews and nieces.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 26th, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
