Maria is survived by her sons: David Marinez, Jesus M. Marinez (Elva), Raul Marinez Sr. (Lupita), and Rolando Marinez. Her grandchildren: Joanna (Seferino III), Leeann (Michael), Amanda, Stephanie, Raul Jr., Jesse (Karla), Kimberly,Victoria and Rolando Marinez Jr. Her great-grandchildren: Nathaniel, Caleb, Ryan, Dakota, Noah, Raul III, Natasha, Mason, Sophia, Easton, Jaimond, Nicolas and Aubrey. Her brother: Daniel Gonzalez (Sylvia) and Yolanda (sister-in-law); including numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Jose Maria Gonzalez and Beatriz C. Gonzalez, her husband: Jesus L. Marinez and her brothers: Luis Gonzalez, Lupe Gonzalez and Jose "Pepe" Gonzalez.
Maria enjoyed crocheting, shopping, traveling, gambling, and watching her novelas. Family meant a lot to her and her great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved to sit around the table and tell stories of her childhood. She will be remembered by her charisma, humor, but most of all her loving heart. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Visitation Services for Maria will be held on Friday, February 22,2019 from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm and a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel - Highland Funeral Home (6705 N. FM 88 Weslaco,Texas 78596). A Mass will be Celebrated for Maria on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mercedes, Texas followed with the Interment at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco,Texas.
