Pedro was born in Mercedes, Texas, to Felix and Guadalupe De Anda. He was the second youngest of sixteen brothers and sisters, growing up surrounded by a large and loving family.
A hardworking man, Pedro dedicated over 20 years of his life to the USDA Agriculture Department. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family. He was married to the love of his life, Maria V. De Anda, for 61 years, building a life centered on love, commitment, and family.
Pedro was a devoted father to his three children, David De Anda, Pedro De Anda Jr., and Dalia D. Longoria. He would do anything for his children, always putting them first. Known for being strong-willed and set in his ways, he could be strict and stubborn, but beneath it all was a deeply loving, kind, and caring man.
He was never one to sit still and was always keeping busy. Even after many surgeries and health challenges, Pedro remained a fighter, showing incredible strength and never giving up.
He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, especially going out to eat breakfast every morning—a routine he looked forward to, whether it was for a good meal, familiar faces, or simply a moment to start his day. He also enjoyed trips to the casino and playing bingo, which brought him joy and relaxation.
Pedro was a proud grandfather to Matthew De Anda, Jody De Anda, Jesse De Anda (preceded in death), Ray De Anda, Breianna Longoria, Javi Longoria, Davina De Anda, and Julián Longoria, and a loving great-grandfather to Devany De La Cruz and Mia De La Cruz.
Pedro leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and unconditional love. The lessons he taught, the sacrifices he made, and the love he gave so freely will live on in his family forever. Though his absence leaves a deep void, his memory will continue to bring comfort, guidance, and strength to those who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
