She was born in Altamira, Tamaulipas to Gregorio Montemayor ♱ and Narcisa Rosales de Montemayor ♱ on March 23, 1938. Since her early teens, she called Weslaco her home.
In 1953, she married her one true love, Pedro ♱, after he was honorably discharged from the military, and soon after began a family of their own.
She was a devoted parishioner at St. Joan of Arc in Weslaco where she spent many years volunteering. She loved to tend to her garden, and prepare meals for her family. Rosa was known to be very glamorous, on any occasion, she was always made up from head to toe. Everyone knew her to be spunky, and humorous. She loved to display her spunky side by always showing a peace sign.
Rosa is survived by her two sisters, Maria Ochoa of King City, California, Yolanda (Rene) Castaneda of Arkansas, her five children: Linda Rubio (Fernando), Arturo Zamorano (Elvia), Bilma “Buffy” Zamorano (“T”), Pedro Zamorano Jr. (Sandra), and Olga Perez (Juan), her 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. They will all miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio Montemayor ♱ and Narcisa Rosales de Montemayor ♱, her brothers, Antonio Montemayor ♱ and Armando Montemayor ♱, and her loving husband Pedro Zamorano ♱.
