Viola Villarreal Valdez, age 84, left to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at McAllen Transitional Care Center in McAllen. She was born to Abel & Dora S. Villarreal on May 20, 1940 in Alamo, Texas. Viola was a full time mother and grandmother. She loved life and her family. Viola was an avid reader and had an amazing, sarcastic sense of humor. She loved her cat Cosmo and her parrot Wilbur; she was a bird lover. Viola loved the beach and music. Most importantly, she believed education and church were non-negotiable. She was literally our beautiful queen to our family. She is now reunited with her parents, Abel & Dora S. Villarreal; daughter, Belinda Valdez and brother, Abel Villarreal; who have preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Amado C. Valdez and her children: Amado C (Yolanda) Valdez Jr., Diana Valdez Reyes, Ivonne Valdez (Hector) Escamilla, Graciela Valdez (George) Rodriguez, Leticia Valdez (Edward) Yanez, Armando (Sylvia) Valdez, Alberto Valdez and Tami Lynn (Rajpaul) Bhadai. She will also be greatly missed by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Monday, September 2, 2024 from 12 pm to 10 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Funeral service will be celebrated at 10 am, Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
