Shirley Ann Losey (Nee Wentworth) of West Allis, went Home to meet her Lord Jesus on January 31, 2012, at age 80, after a courageous 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved wife of Arthur for 59 years. Dear mother of Judy Hilzer, Terry (Susie), Richard (Maira), Paul (Pat), Linda (Roger) Epley, Tim (Pam), John (Lois) and Mark (Jennifer). Shirley is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is further survived by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her mother, Inez Wentworth, her sister, Doris (Don) Mueller, an unborn child, her son, Ron, son-in-law, Stan Hilzer and many other relatives.
Shirley worked as a bookkeeper prior to devoting herself to her husband, her children and grandchildren. She made each one feel special. Shirley was an outstanding homemaker and was very active in her children's schools and their various activities. She was a long time member of Apostle Presbyterian Church, West Allis, where she volunteered along with her husband for the Youth Club and was a Deacon and an Elder.
She and Arthur volunteered at the West Allis Senior Center serving meals. She also worked during tax season at H & R Block. Shirley enjoyed reading, making homemade chocolates, playing cards while visiting with friends, watching movies and quilting. Shirley was a most loving, caring and giving person. She truly was an example of the following scripture:
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Romans 12:9-11
The family extends their grateful thanks to Shirley's dear friends at The Landmark of West Allis that looked out for her each day and to the doctors, nursing staff and health care professionals that so lovingly and compassionately cared for Shirley during her illness and so graciously ministered to the family members.
Memorial Service Saturday, February 4, at 11 AM at Apostle Presbyterian Church (1509 S. 76th St. West Allis) with Visitation from 9 AM until time of Service. In lieu of flowers, contributions will be made to Shirley's favorite charities.
