How I loved spending my life with you

You had your way of making me renewed

we have a love that has allowed no one to intrude

You always said it will forever be

Just the two of us- You and me

Oh how right you seemed to be

knowing how much you mean to me

Never caring more about material things

You worked so hard at providing everything

Our boating, ridding ,camping & fishing trips

Were taken even after your double shifts.

Watching waves and the sand as it drifts

You taught me it was God who provided these gifts

You showed me life has a safety kit faithfully checking in on us you would say:

“Check your oil, engine too,

have extra water-take some for Yvonne & kids too,

check the air in the tires, make sure you stop if you are too tired,

make sure you eat and drive safe, have a spare just in case,

pull over & go inside if it seems too hot to continue your drive,

don’t speed & race just get there safe, call me if there is anything I can do

and remember Boboo I love you!”

You taught and showed me how to be a provider

I loved that you became my advisor

You showed me what unconditional love is,

I’m holding on to all your hugs & kisses but dad I already miss it

All our random calls and text -

My God please tell me what am I to do next?

As far as I can remember it was you and I

Now you lay to rest and I feel as if I have died

I know at some point I’ll start to heal

In the mean time I’ll continue to kneel

I’ll thank the Lord for His will -

since you alone taught me this way

With that I know one day It will seem okay.
