I remember grandpa as always smiling and joyful when around his family. A pilar of our family will be deeply missed. 

  I can count on two hands now of how many funeral services i have been to,  and i can tell you that this does not get any easier; it's not something you get used to, because the death of you Abuelo really hit me the hardest- I nearly had a heart break, tachycardia, and an overall unsettling feeling or fear.  No matter how much I held inside, or didnt cry, or stayed positive for the sake of my family and myself, nothing prepared me in the end to watch you take your last breath and hear Abuelitas sweet & sad words to you. 
  Even though I was accepting of your outcome because of age and illness,  I was in denial that it would happen. I really thought you would be coming home, and we would drive to the market one more time, or share Pan con Leche once more, or just watch TV together. You were always so strong physically and mentally, you have been through a lot working hard your whole life til your old age, and you have built a huge huge family- the strongest biggest family tree I have ever seen and I was always so proud to talk about it to others. 
  I will miss your silly laugh with a kick you would do, your hugs, the abundance of Pan dulce you would bring to work and parties, your never ending offerings of Leche and tea and coffee and more. You helped raised not only your kids but also your grandkids including myself, and I thank you for all our time  together that i was fortunate to have including vacations, work, and milestones of mine. You never missed any bodies events and you were always early.  "Grampis" no matter how grumpy or tough you acted, you were just a protective cuddly bear.  We will protect your legacy and traditions, please continue to protect us from up there.

To my Abuelito this past month has been unreal to all of us I still can't accept that you are no longer with us. . All I can think about now is all the times we  spent together whether it was going to visit you on the weekends or going to work with you everyday . You are my idol abuelo thanks for showing me the ways of a hard working and responsible man , I have always looked up to you and always will. The stories you told me about your life will go down to my children and i promise your legacy will live on .The day I will always remember is when I saw you driving on the freeway while I was driving my semi truck, you were so excited to see me drive because I would always tell you that I couldn't wait to get my class A and you always pushed me to do it  but that smile on your face when you saw me will be engraved in my heart forever. I miss you abuelito and I can't wait to see you again.

To  my dear papa I have love you since I first open my eyes I was your first daughter and I know you were so proud of me, just want to thank you for all the time you spend taking me to work everyday and waiting for me out side in the cold and in the heat. I remember that every Thursday was pay day and I soon I cash my check we went to eat sea food at this truck stop that was our favorite place to eat. There is so many more things that I want to say but I think  I need a bigger page. My kids adore you. you were so proud of their achievements and that to me was more than enough. I will miss you everyday and till we see each other again in heaven ❤ love you with all my heart  your daughter Mercedes fermin Tejeda 🌹🌹😘
