

Rita Ann Goldate was the youngest of 4 girls born, in Philadelphia, to Eugene Joseph Goldate and Sarah Jane Kelly. She attended St. Cecelia's Catholic Elementary school in Fox Chase and Little Flower High School for Girls in Philadelphia. After graduation, she briefly worked for Philadelphia Gas Company prior to marrying Francis Phillip Taylor in 1955 and moving to Pittsfield, Massachusetts where her first two children were born. Due to a job opportunity, the family moved to Los Angeles in 1959 where they resided for the remainder of her life and where her other children were born. Rita graduated with Honors in Italian from UCLA after receiving her associate's degree from Mt. Sac Community College. Rita was active in St. Louis of France Catholic Church parish, La Puente and at Bishop Amat Memorial High School as well as the UCLA women's club and the Freeway Lacer's group.
Rita is predeceased by her parents and two sisters as well as her husband of 58 years and her daughter, Kathleen Marie. She is survived by her eldest sister, Bernadine (Joseph) Riley as well as her sons: Francis Phillip (Regina), Kevin Michael (Fatima), and Robert Steven (Gina); and daughters: Rita Ann (John) Chrivia and Teresa Maureen (Scott) Brown.
