

Ann Louise Cramer, 93, of West Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025 at Deerfield. Funeral services will be held at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines on Saturday, January 18, 2024 at 10 a.m., with burial following at Resthaven Cemetery.
Ann was born on January 30, 1931, to Berl and Dora (Schrader) York in West Des Moines. A proud 1949 graduate of Waukee High School, she pursued her passion for helping others by attending the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota, where she earned her nursing degree.
Ann was a trailblazer and advocate for women’s education, serving as a devoted member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization, P.E.O. Sisterhood. Her commitment to fostering opportunities for women left a lasting impact. She was also a longtime member of Valley Evangelical Church, where her faith and dedication to her community shone brightly.
In addition to her professional and civic contributions, Ann found great joy in her hobbies. She loved collecting antiques, sewing, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She was an excellent cook and baker, known for filling her home with warmth, love, and the aroma of her creations.
Ann is survived by her son, Edward McAtee of Booneville; her grandson, Matthew (Amy) McAtee of Des Moines; grandson, Logan McAtee; great-grandsons, Milo and Wyatt McAtee; and great-granddaughter, Kyla McAtee.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Keith McAtee; her second husband, Bill Cramer; her son, Richard McAtee; her parents, Berl and Dora; brothers, Don, Bob, John, Jim; and sister, Bet.
Memorial contributions may be directed to any Wounded Veterans Associations or organizations, reflecting her lifelong spirit of compassion and service.
