Beverly Ann Anderson (Staker), age 87, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born on January 7, 1938, in Boone, Iowa. She lived a long and full life rooted in family.
Beverly was the daughter of Kenny and Millie Staker and grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa, alongside her siblings. Beverly graduated from Valley High School in 1956 and married her loving husband, Don, on February 14, 1957, which marked the beginning of a life centered around love for their family.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Don Anderson, her parents, her brother, Bob Staker, her sister, Ruth Krieman, her parents-in-law, Isabel and Lou Anderson, four brothers-in-law, John Ayres, Les Anderson, George Battani, and Ed Riegel, three sisters-in-law, Janice Anderson, Darlene Battani, and Belva Riegel, a niece, Pam Staker, and a nephew Jim Anderson. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Mike Anderson (Anita), Joni Sekander, and Pam Vacco (Mark Bauman). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Elizabeth Anderson, R.J. Vacco (Tami), Anthony Vacco (Nicole), Yosef Sekander (Amira), Alissa Anderson, Nicholas Vacco, and Mena Sekander. Beverly also leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren: Sam Goldman, Kate Goldman, Vido Vacco, Vini Vacco, Ben Anderson, Ella Anderson, Xena Graham, Emma Vacco, Valento Vacco, Dean Sekander, and Vanni Vacco.
Beverly is also survived by her siblings, Jim Staker (Carolyn), Linda Ayres, and Janie Richmond (Mike), a brother-in-law, Gerald Anderson, and a sister-in-law, Norma Anderson, who shared many heartfelt moments with her.
A visitation in Beverly’s memory will be held on August 26, 2025 at 10:00 AM, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM, at Lutheran Church of Hope at 925 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa. There will be a light lunch afterwards. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery, after lunch.
